This war novel, by a veteran who was severely wounded in France while part of the American Expeditionary Army is described as the antithesis of such works as Paths of Glory and All Quiet on the Western Front. The dj copy states "This is a story of a real soldier who went to war and discovered that though war was hell, it was also...for himself and many of his comrades...one hell of a good time!" NF in VG plus dj with tiny chips at spine ends and flap corners, spine end with some rubbing, few scotch tape mends at verso.
